Retired Navy SEAL and small business owner Frank Hoagland is running for State Senate to bring common sense leadership and representation back to Eastern and Southeastern Ohio.  Frank will bring a fighting spirit and record of service to Columbus that will serve residents well.

Frank Hoagland isn't a career politician.  He's a veteran and a small business owner.  Like so many of us, Frank has become frustrated with the ability of politicians to change their ways and to do what's best for the people.  He won't make the next election his top priority; he'll make serving his district residents, the state and the country his top priority.

For Hoagland, serving his country started early. He volunteered for the Navy just two weeks after graduating from Buckeye North High School in Jefferson County and quickly signed up for Navy SEAL BUDS training, following in the special forces footsteps of his father who had served as a Army Green Beret. Navy SEAL training prepared Frank for a life of service by focusing on the notion that success comes when people focus on helping others before they focus on helping themselves.

Frank earned his Navy SEAL trident pin after successfully completing BUDS training and served as a Navy SEAL for nearly 30 years. He served overseas and participated in combat zones including the International War on Terrorism and the War on Drugs in South America.

After Frank's last combat deployment in 2011, Hoagland retired and returned to Eastern Ohio.  Seeking new opportunities to serve and help to protect his community, Frank founded the small business Special Training and Response Tactics (STRT). At STRT, Frank shares his expertise on emergency situation preparation and emergency response procedures with local school districts, businesses, and law enforcement agencies.

Frank Hoagland is married to his high school sweetheart Darla. They have two grown sons, Josh and Luke.
